UMBAL Burgas: Financial Stability and Future Investments

University Hospital for Active Treatment (UMBAL) Burgas is in a stable financial state, which will allow for significant investments in the future. This was announced by the press center of the medical facility after the first official presentation of the new executive director, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Gonchev, to the Medical Council of the hospital.

It seems that the stable financial situation provides an opportunity for planned improvements. In the next contract that the hospital is about to sign with the National Health Insurance Fund, more clinical pathways and highly specialized activities will be included. The atmosphere in the meeting room, where the meeting took place, was filled with anticipation for future changes.

The average remuneration of medical specialists at UMBAL Burgas reaches about 4000 leva. This level is comparable to that in the other regional hospitals, which shows competitiveness in attracting and retaining medical staff. The new executive director emphasized that staff stability is among the key advantages of the hospital, with new medical specialists constantly being appointed.

The gaze of those present was directed towards the ambitious plans for the future. The modernization of the treatment base, the renovation of diagnostic equipment and the improvement of the qualifications of medical specialists are among the main priorities of the management. In this regard, the purchase of a second angiograph for the Vascular Surgery Clinic is planned, which will significantly improve the possibilities for diagnosis and treatment. The repairs to improve the living conditions in the departments are also part of the plans, which will contribute to the comfort of patients and staff.

The air in the hospital is saturated with activity. UMBAL Burgas develops active educational activity and is a strategic partner of the State University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov", where future doctors and health specialists are trained.

Prof. Gonchev emphasized the importance of the scientific and educational mission of the medical institution, which contributes to the training of a new generation of medical staff. He urged young doctors to be more active in their academic development, encouraging them to participate in scientific research and educational initiatives.

BTA recalls that Dr. Vladimir Gonchev was elected executive director of the hospital in October this year. This appointment marks a new stage in the development of the hospital.

Before the current appointment, Dr. Gonchev temporarily held the position after the head of the University Hospital at the time, Dr. Boyko Mirazchiyski, passed away at the beginning of July. The death of the previous director was met with sadness by the healthcare community.
