Ukraine will receive up to 100 Rafale F4 fighter jets from France, as well as advanced air defense systems, in a major deal aimed at boosting Kyiv's ability to defend the country from deadly Russian attacks. This decision marks a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the move as "historic", after signing the letter of intent with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron at an airbase near Paris. The ceremony itself was held under the supervision of military officials and government officials. The atmosphere was serious and filled with anticipation.
Deliveries of the Rafale F4 fighter jets are planned to be completed by 2035, while the joint production of interceptor drones begins this year. This initiative underscores the ambition to develop modern means of protection.
