The Institute for Economic Policy is organizing the 25th jubilee edition of its long-standing regional initiative - the Summer Seminar for Young Civil Servants and Experts in the Field of Public Policies. This year's edition, titled "Strategic Vision for Central and Eastern Europe in Times of Continuing Uncertainty", brought together 37 participants from 13 countries who worked together to create a common vision for the future of the region.

The 25th jubilee edition of the Summer Seminar of the Institute for Economic Policy (IEP) was held from June 9 to 13, 2025 in the resort complex Albena. The event, supported by the "Hans Seidel" Foundation, the Central European Initiative, the Austrian Embassy in Bulgaria and the Representation of the European Commission, focused on the formation of a strategic vision for Central and Eastern Europe in the conditions of ongoing uncertainty.

The forum began with a one-day "Forum on the Future of Central and Eastern Europe", which brought together leading experts and alumni of the seminar from European and national institutions, regional organizations and research centers. Discussions in four thematic panels outlined key priorities for the region, related to EU enlargement, economic competitiveness, good governance and security.

During the three-day strategic foresight sessions, participants from 13 countries, including EU member states and non-members, worked in-depth on the development of future-oriented scenarios related to peace, security and economic sustainability in Central and Eastern Europe. The scenario planning methodology, which has become a key element of the seminar, once again proved its effectiveness as a tool for cooperation, exchange of experience and application of modern approaches in management.

Another valuable experience for the participants was the visit to the Naval Academy "Nikola Vaptsarov" in Varna, which provided them with an opportunity to get acquainted with the real strategic challenges in the Black Sea region.

The jubilee edition of the seminar successfully combined inspiring presentations and discussions with effective teamwork, concluding with a certificate award ceremony and a farewell cocktail. The feedback from the lecturers and participants was extremely positive, confirming the role of the seminar as a unique platform for promoting regional cooperation, developing strategic thinking, and supporting the new generation of leaders in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Institute for Economic Policy expresses its gratitude to the partners who have long supported this important regional initiative.
