Triumph in Boston: 16-year-old from Burgas wins full scholarship to Berklee

Bulgarian talent conquers the global music scene

A new international success for a young musician from Burgas! 16-year-old Nikol Georgieva, a student at the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National School of Music and Performing Arts, has won a full scholarship for the prestigious five-week summer program at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

This is one of the highest international recognitions a young musician can receive.

The path to success

The award was granted at the end of this year's edition of Umbria Jazz Clinics 2026. The competition was immense:

• Thousands of young performers from all over the world applied.
• Only 229 talented musicians reached the final stage.
• Nikol impressed the jury at the final audition and won full funding.

This achievement is a recognition not only of the young Burgas native's talent but also of the high level of music education at the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National School of Music and Performing Arts. The Municipality of Burgas congratulates Nikol and wishes her many more successes on the world stage.
