By the end of the year, a third payment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) is expected. This was announced by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers. The amount that is expected to be received amounts to 1.6 billion euros.
"We expect 1.6 billion euros to be received by the end of the year, with which we guarantee our financial stability", the Prime Minister emphasized. He added that the Bulgarian parliament will continue work on the reforms related to the upcoming third payment, both today and tomorrow. "I want to thank the European Commission for the trust in the Bulgarian government and each minister individually", Zhelyazkov also stated.
At the basis of receiving the third payment is the second, the partial receipt of which was carried out yesterday. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of this fact.
"Yesterday Bulgaria received the second payment under the RRP - 440 million euros, which is recognition. This is also the first payment under the plan in three years. We have fulfilled 58 out of 59 milestone targets", Zhelyazkov said.
Despite the received funding, the Prime Minister did not comment on the unfulfilled part of the plan, due to which Brussels has withheld over 200 million euros.
