Energy Minister Traicho Traikov discussed key energy projects and bilateral cooperation with the Romanian Ambassador Brândușa Ioana Predescu.
The main topic was the possibilities for reverse natural gas supplies to Bulgaria, in view of the expected Black Sea production. The expansion of the gas transmission network on the Roupcha - Vetrino route, part of the Vertical Gas Corridor, as well as regulatory solutions for more competitive prices for future deliveries were also discussed.
During the meeting, initiatives for the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania underwater electrical cable, as well as the possibilities for Bulgaria to join, were also discussed. The Romanian side expressed its support for the process.
The Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Bulgaria green corridor was also discussed. The construction of a third bridge on the Danube River and the development of a highway connecting Greece and Romania through Bulgaria were also discussed.
Traikov informed about a future infrastructure project - the Veliko Tarnovo lot in the direction of the "Maritsa" highway, which could turn out to be part of a key route for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
