Launch of the "Sport for Every Burgas Child" Campaign in Burgas

The "Episkop Konstantin Preslavski" Secondary School hosted the launch of the "Sports for Every Burgas Child" campaign by the Municipality of Burgas. The initiative, held for the fourth consecutive year, aims to ignite the spark of sports and an active lifestyle in the hearts of the youngest students.

The atmosphere in front of the school was filled with children's laughter and excitement. The children, dressed in sports uniforms, were preparing for the upcoming sports challenges. The mood was complemented by the presence of renowned athletes, ready to share their experience and motivate the young generation.

The opening program included warm-up exercises, relay games, and final sports competitions, which were organized and conducted by some of the most successful Bulgarian athletes. These were the lecturers and ambassadors of the campaign, who enthusiastically participated in the sports festival. 115 students from the third grade of the host school and SOU "Dimcho Debelyanov" took part.

Among the official guests who honored the event were Valentina Kamalieva, Head of the Regional Education Department – Burgas; Manol Todorov, Deputy Mayor "Sports and Tourism"; Katya Misheva, Director of the "Education and Youth Policies" Directorate; Pavlina Aleksieva, Senior Expert on Physical Education and Sports; Martin Iliev, Director of SOU "Episkop Konstantin Preslavski", and Peyko Stoev, Director of SOU "Dimcho Debelyanov".

The event was led by prominent champions and athletes who not only shared their experience, but also inspired the children with their messages.

Gergana Apostolova-Kostova, a world champion in karate kyokushin in the "Kata" discipline, presented an impressive demonstration with her assistant and instructor Evgeniy Prudnikov, also a world champion and holder of three European titles. "I am pleased to be a part of this wonderful event by the Municipality of Burgas and the "Tourism and Sports" Directorate. We hope the children will take an example from us and sport will become a part of their lives", shared Gergana.

The attendees watched the performances with interest, inspired by the strength and grace of the karatekas.

Tsanko Tsankov, a swimmer, multiple national champion, world and European record holder for 12-hour swimming without interruption in a 50-meter pool, master of sports and the first person to swim the waters of the Burgas Bay, also attended the event. He emphasized that the main goal of the campaign is to motivate as many children as possible to discover the joy of sports and turn it into a part of their lives. Tsankov sent an invitation to all residents and guests of the city for the premiere of the documentary film about swimming the Northern Canal, one of the seven most difficult swimming challenges in the world. The screening is scheduled for October 19, Sunday, at 12:00 p.m. in the hall of the NHC, and admission will be free. After the film, the audience will have the opportunity for a meeting, photo and autograph from the famous athlete.

Valeria Docheva, a rhythmic gymnastics coach, fitness instructor, and two-time finalist in the television format "The Farm", is among the active participants in the campaign, sharing her mission to encourage children to an active lifestyle and persistence in sports.

Sasha Borisenko, a finalist from the television show "Games of Will", European vice-champion and finalist of the world championship in jumping and trampoline, also joined the initiative. "I am developing aerial acrobatics and calisthenics in the city of Burgas, inviting all children over 5 years old to try. The goal is to build a culture of movement and sport in everyday life", shared Borisenko.

The "Sports for Every Burgas Child" campaign is expected to continue with a series of meetings and demonstrations in all schools in the city. Its main goal is to encourage children to movement, sports and a healthy lifestyle, introducing them closely to the inspiring examples of successful athletes from Burgas and Bulgaria.
