A large-scale investment project has been launched in the Industrial Zone "Zagore - Elenino", aimed at a radical transformation of the regional economic environment. Deputy Minister Krasimir Yakimov officially launched the "Attract Invest ZAGORE" project, funded by the Recovery and Sustainability Plan with a budget of 17.3 million leva.
The project involves a large-scale infrastructure intervention, including reconstruction of a municipal road, construction of a modern water supply and sewage network, technical infrastructure, and innovative charging stations for electric vehicles. The strategic goal is to create an extremely attractive business environment capable of attracting serious investors.
In his speech, Yakimov emphasized the importance of supporting businesses: "Our programs do not just finance projects, but have the potential to transform entire regions". He reported that so far the Ministry has supported over 250 companies with nearly 100 million leva, with new procedures for digitalization and energy efficiency upcoming.
Mayor Zhivko Todorov expressed optimism about the future of Stara Zagora, defining investments as the "right way forward". Parallel to this project, the Ministry is financing similar industrial parks in nine Bulgarian cities, with a total budget of around 200 million leva.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together key representatives of local authorities, the management of "Industrial Zone Zagore" AD and the Bulgarian Development Bank. The presence of such high-ranking institutional figures underscores the project's importance for regional economic development.
Expectations are that the project will generate hundreds of new jobs, increase export potential, and create modern industrial infrastructure to attract foreign investors.
