Sofia University launches innovative language majors in Burgas

The academic community of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" has developed two revolutionary educational programs that will meet the modern needs of language specialists with an East Asian orientation. The Faculty of Classical and New Philologies initiated the creation of bachelor's courses in "Foreign Language Teaching Methodology - Japanese Language" and "Foreign Language Teaching Methodology - Chinese Language".

The new specialties are designed with a clear strategic goal – preparation of highly qualified language experts capable of teaching and communicating in the East Asian cultural context. The programs offer in-depth language training, combined with intensive methodological and pedagogical preparation.

Applications for the two innovative directions are already underway, with electronic document submission running from 08:30 on June 13 to 17:00 on July 2. Future students will have the opportunity for diverse professional realization – from teaching activities through work in international companies to participation in cultural and scientific projects.

The educational concept encompasses not just language training, but a comprehensive understanding of East Asian communicative models. Students will acquire in-depth knowledge of the specificities of Japanese and Chinese culture, communicative practices, and ways of thinking.
