Caretaker Government Creates Crisis Headquarters for Prices of Goods and Fuels

The caretaker government is establishing a Crisis Headquarters for coordinating the monitoring and control of the prices of goods and fuels as a result of the conflict in the Middle East, the government press service announced.

The Crisis Headquarters will request information on the state and dynamics of the prices of goods and fuels as a result of the conflict in the Middle East, as well as on the measures developed to deal with the increase in fuel prices by the interdepartmental working group, established by order of the Prime Minister. The headquarters will also propose and take measures related to the control of the increase in the prices of goods and fuels, as well as other factors influencing pricing.

The Crisis Headquarters will be headed by the Prime Minister and will include the Ministers of Finance, Economy and Industry, Energy, Transport and Communications, Agriculture and Food, Regional Development and Public Works, Labor and Social Policy.

In his capacity as head of the Crisis Headquarters, the Prime Minister will be able to invite the chairpersons of the National Statistical Institute, the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets, the Commission for Protection of Competition, and the Commission for Consumer Protection to participate, as well as the executive director of the National Revenue Agency and the director of the Customs Agency, and, if necessary, representatives of other institutions. Deputy Prime Ministers may also participate in the meetings.

On March 27, the government presented a package of measures for around 100 million euros in connection with the consequences of the crisis in the Middle East for citizens and businesses.
