Bomb disposal teams from Ukraine's State Emergency Service (DSNS) have removed the warhead of a Russian ballistic missile that landed in a yard between apartment blocks in Kyiv's Obolon district, the service said. Sappers also took away the secured remains. A one-storey building was damaged in the strike.

Eight people were injured in Obolon district, Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Saturday. Five have been taken to city hospitals, three of them in serious condition.

The strike was part of a Russian attack on the capital. Overnight into 11 October, Russian forces launched 116 Shahed attack drones, 95 of them jet-powered. By 08:30, air defences had shot down or jammed 94 drones, 74 of them jet-powered.

In Sviatoshyn district, drone debris fell on a school stadium. In Darnytskyi district, debris fell in an open area and damaged several cars.

The DSNS called on people who see a suspicious object not to go near it or touch it, and to call 101 or 112 at once.
