Russian Strikes on Energy Facilities in Ukraine: Consequences

Another night of strikes by Russian forces against Ukrainian territory, with energy facilities as the target this time, reports Censor.NET today. According to the information, the attacks were carried out with drones over several Ukrainian regions on the night of October 15. The consequences of the attacks are felt since the morning, with power outages in some areas, including in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Tension in the region is palpable. Uncertainty reigns in the affected areas, while specialists are working hard to restore the power supply.

The Ministry of Energy has already undertaken emergency recovery activities in all affected regions, with efforts focused on the rapid removal of damage. The goal is to restore the normal functioning of the energy system as soon as possible.

The ministry's statement emphasizes that "due to the complex situation in the energy system as a result of previous Russian strikes, emergency shutdowns for all categories of consumers were applied in the morning in Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, as well as partially in Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions. Part of the industry was temporarily interrupted in Zaporizhzhia region. At the moment, emergency shutdowns are not applied in any region".

In the Chernihiv region, the situation is even more difficult. The local energy company has introduced three shifts of phased outages, on the orders of the authorities. This decision was made as a result of the systematic attacks on energy infrastructure in the region in recent weeks.

Against the backdrop of these events, the Ministry of Energy emphasizes that the energy system is actively preparing for the upcoming winter season. Repair and modernization activities are being carried out, spare parts and equipment are being accumulated, and the protection of key infrastructure is being strengthened. Nevertheless, the situation remains critical and the need for measures to limit consumption is imperative.

In this context, citizens are urged to be careful in the use of electricity, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening. These measures are intended to reduce the load on the system and help stabilize the situation.
