A Russian drone has hit a merchant ship in the Black Sea, says Oleh Kiper, head of Ukraine's Odesa regional military administration.
The ship sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands and was carrying rapeseed oil. The strike set fire to the ship's superstructure, Kiper said on Tuesday, October 6, on his Telegram channel.
"The strike killed one person and injured seven others," Kiper said. He called it another Russian war crime.
Kiper said Russia keeps attacking civilian ships in the Black Sea. "With deliberate strikes on civilian shipping and port infrastructure, Russia is grossly breaking international law," he said, adding that these strikes on ships and ports also threaten food security around the world.
