Russian forces struck a private residential area in Kharkiv's Nemyshlianskyi district during the day. A 36-year-old woman was killed and eight people were wounded, Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SESU) said.

One of the wounded is a child.

The strike destroyed a house and damaged neighbouring homes. A fire broke out after the hit, burning the house, cars and reeds over about 600 sq m.

Rescuers worked at the scene. SESU psychologists are helping the victims.

Kharkiv is one of the cities Russia's army has been hitting since the start of its full-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022.
