Prime Minister Rumen Radev expects the Minister of Foreign Affairs to organize the recall of the Bulgarian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates as soon as possible. He stated this during a briefing at the Council of Ministers dedicated to anti-corruption measures.

The event was attended by Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev, Minister of Innovation and Digital Transformation Ivan Vasilev, Chairperson of DANS Plamen Tonchev, and Acting Secretary-General of the Ministry of Interior Lyubomir Nikolov.

When asked whether it is necessary to initiate the stripping of immunity for a political party leader holding a seat in Parliament, Radev replied that the decision rests entirely within the competence of the prosecutor's office. "I said that we do not interfere there," the Prime Minister emphasized.

According to Radev, part of the comprehensive anti-corruption campaign will include a review and audit of significant but compromised public procurement contracts, as well as internal departmental transfers. Additionally, investigations will be conducted into individuals who have been implicated.
