Starting September 1, 2025, changes to bus lines 1, 2, and 4 will come into effect in Pomorie, affecting routes and schedules.

Pomorie, August 29, 2025 - A wave of changes has hit the public transport system of Pomorie, leaving passengers with many questions and a need for quick adaptation. As of Monday, September 1, 2025, significant adjustments to the routes and schedules of bus lines № 1, 2, and 4 will come into force. The decisions, made by the municipal administration, aim to optimize traffic but will inevitably affect the daily lives of thousands of residents and guests of the city.

Details of the changes: Phased introduction and affected stops

The first phase of the adjustments starts on September 1. Until 5:00 PM, buses will follow their approved routes, but with one significant change: the stop on "Cherkovna" Street is being discontinued and relocated to the neighboring "Tsar Asen" Street, specifically to the stop "Former Medical Boarding House". This seemingly small correction, in fact, changes access to the central part of the city and makes it necessary for passengers to navigate the new situation.

After 5:00 PM, the changes become even more drastic. The evening routes of the lines will use the "Former Medical Boarding House" stop as their final stop, which means they will not continue on their routes through the stops on "Tsar Asen" Street, including the iconic "Cherkovna", "Russian Monument", and "Ivan Vazov School"." This decision reroutes a significant portion of the passenger flow and requires new travel planning, especially for people who rely on evening transport.

Secondary adjustments and full restoration of routes

The second phase of the changes will occur on September 16, 2025. From this date, the schedules of lines № 1, 2, and 4 will be executed in full from the first to the last route, which essentially restores the previous traffic scheme. This two-phase approach shows that the municipal administration is trying to balance the optimization of public transport with the need for a smooth transition for citizens.

To help passengers orient themselves, the responsible institutions have provided detailed schedules reflecting both the regular and seasonal adjustments. Line № 1, which starts from the "Former Bus Station" in the "Sveti Georgi" neighborhood, will continue to serve key stops such as "St. George Monastery", "Pomorie Municipality", and "Bread Factory", but with different departure times, including some that are only active during certain seasons. For example, some of the evening routes after 7:00 PM are scheduled only for the period from April 1 to November 1, and the latest ones – from June 1 to August 31.

During the summer season, after 5:00 PM, line № 1 will bypass the "Russian Monument" and "Ivan Vazov School" stops, with its final stop on the route being "ViK".

Updated schedules and challenges for passengers

Line № 2, which also starts from the "Sveti Georgi" neighborhood, will serve key points such as "MHAL" and "Old Mud Baths". Its departure times remain 06:30, 07:00, 07:30, 12:00, 14:30, and 19:30.

Line № 4, which connects various points, will have two main departure points: "Russian Monument" and the "Kamenar_q_ neighborhood, with certain routes that are executed only during the summer, from June 1 to September 30. This distinction further complicates planning for residents who depend on public transport throughout the year.

The extensive changes to the public transport system in Pomorie create serious challenges for the local community. While some welcome the efforts at optimization, others express concern about the uncertainty and the need to constantly monitor schedules to avoid misunderstandings. Passengers are urged to be careful and to familiarize themselves in advance with the new routes and departure times to ensure a smooth journey in the coming weeks.
