Government with Plan for Lukoil Before Sanctions

The government's readiness regarding the case with the company "Lukoil" is at a high level, and the cabinet has prepared a specific action plan. This was assured by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth, Tomislav Donchev, during today's parliamentary blitz control. The event was organized in response to a question posed by the parliamentary group of "PP-DB".

The question concerned two key aspects: the government's readiness to appoint a special trade representative at "Lukoil Neftohim" and what specific measures the cabinet plans to take before November 21st. This date represents the end point set by the United States of America for the entry into force of sanctions against the Russian companies "Lukoil" and "Rosneft", as well as against their assets.

Deputy Prime Minister Donchev hinted that developments on the issue might occur during the upcoming days off.

He emphasized the critical importance of negotiations with the country that imposed the sanctions - the United States of America.

"I expect news in the coming days about what will happen in the next five days," he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister assured the public that a fuel crisis will not be allowed in Bulgaria.

"How correct the government's steps have been in recent weeks will be proven," Donchev continued. "How good a plan is depends on its results and its implementation. I am sure that by the results, you may soon find out that the plan has been good."

Deputy Prime Ministers Atanas Zafirov and Grozdan Karadzhov also participated in the parliamentary control. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov was expected to attend as well.
