Port Prim Art Fest Burgas: Opening and Program until October 4th

With a solemn atmosphere and the presence of many guests, the eighth consecutive Port Prim Art Fest was opened in the halls of the "Petko Zadgorski" Art Gallery in Burgas. The event, which has already established itself as a significant moment in the cultural calendar of the region, is organized by Grand Hotel and SPA "Primoretz" with the support of Burgas Municipality.

During the opening, the organizers and guests of the festival noted the importance of this cultural event. "For the eighth year, we are creating a kind of roof for everything that inspires us – talent, art, beauty. The festival has become not only a tradition, but also a cultural sign of Burgas - a place where artists from different generations communicate and give birth to new ideas and friendships," emphasized Petya Karamanska, marketing manager of the hotel and organizer of the festival. Her words were followed by approving exclamations from those present.

The Deputy Mayor for Culture and Religions of Burgas Municipality, Diana Savateva, also spoke, highlighting the importance of the festival as an example of successful cooperation between culture and the tourism business. "Port Prim Art Fest is an event that fits perfectly into Burgas's candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2032 – proof of the good partnership between different spheres and the use of culture as a mechanism for the development of tourism," she noted, adding how important it is for the gallery to continue to host such large-scale events. At the same time, she emphasized the city's desire to develop its cultural infrastructure.

The artistic director of the festival, the artist Stefan Bozhkov, greeted the audience with the words: "For the eighth year in a row, I feel at home in Burgas. Bulgaria can always be proud of its artists and sculptors – although a small country, it is great in art. Burgas deserves to be the European Capital of Culture and we will always support it," underlining his dedication to the city and its cultural heritage.

The collective exhibition, which opened the festival, presents the works of the artists Gergana Nikolova, Annabel Hamamdjieva, Liliyana Aleksandrova, Rafael Georgiev – Rafo, Tsvetan Krastev, Stefan Churchuliev and Stefan Bozhkov himself. The guests enjoyed the variety of styles and techniques, demonstrating the richness of contemporary Bulgarian painting and sculpture.

The festival program, which will continue until October 4, includes literary premieres. Among them is the presentation of the book "I Didn't Exist Before" by Radina Chervenova, as well as the presentation of the book "Rhinoceros in the Bathroom" by Georgi Milkov. In addition, visitors will be able to enjoy screenings of feature and animated short films from the "Quarantine" International Festival. The festival also offers the concert spectacle "Global Pop" by Nina Nikolina with the participation of virtuoso musicians, as well as the play "The Last Night of Socrates" based on a text by Stefan Tsanev, with which Theater 199 "Valentin Stoychev" celebrates its 60th anniversary. All these events promise unforgettable emotions for the residents and guests of Burgas.
