Specialists from Bulgaria and Germany will hold joint consultations on pension issues in Burgas. The initiative, which is aimed at Bulgarian citizens with insurance history in both countries, aims to facilitate the process of acquiring pension rights and to provide detailed explanations on specific cases. The event will be held at the territorial division of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) in the seaside city, and a team of experts will be available to citizens for three consecutive days.
According to the official information distributed by the NSSI press center, the consultations will take place from September 16 to 18, 2025 in the institute's building, located at 126 Stefan Stambolov Blvd. During these three days, experts from Bulgaria and Germany will provide competent advice and analyze specific cases related to the rights of people who live in Bulgaria but have periods of social security acquired under both Bulgarian and German legislation.
The initiative provides a unique opportunity for all interested parties to receive comprehensive information on a number of key issues. They will be able to consult on the conditions for acquiring the right to a pension, the rules for recalculating and paying pensions in accordance with European regulations on the coordination of social security systems. In addition, the consultations will provide guidance on the expected amount of the future pension, which is essential for citizens_q_ long-term financial planning.
What should you bring?
To ensure maximum effectiveness of the meetings, the NSSI advises all interested parties to bring the necessary documents. It is recommended that citizens have with them original documents certifying their work and insurance history, diplomas for education and completed courses, as well as an identity document. For women who want to have their maternity insurance recognized, it is also necessary to present the birth certificate of their child or children.
Schedule and information for registration
The consultations will be held according to a pre-arranged schedule, with the expert reception hours for each of the three days being from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The service is completely free and is provided in Bulgarian or German.

In April, Bulgarian and German experts met with citizens in Hamburg, Germany, thus helping people living abroad to get the necessary information about their pension rights. This event in Burgas is part of a series of joint actions by the two institutions, aimed at ensuring equal access to information and assistance for citizens in both countries.
