The Principal of the Commercial High School in Burgas, Pavel Chepov, received the prestigious "Knight of the Book" award in the "Teacher or School" category. The award ceremony took place at the Peroto Literary Club on the occasion of International Book and Copyright Day, organized by the Bulgarian Book Association.
Pavel Chepov was recognized for his long-standing work in education and his contribution to promoting reading among young people. He shared: "I am honored to accept this award. I have always strived to inspire my students to discover the world of books. I believe that reading is the key to knowledge and success."
The award is also a recognition for the Commercial High School in Burgas, which has established itself as a center that promotes the love of books and education.
Albena Ralenkova was posthumously awarded for her exceptional contribution to Bulgarian books and culture. The award was accepted by her son, Ivan. Svetlozar Zhelev, a teacher and researcher of reading practices, also received an award. Among the winners in the "Teacher or School" category were the National School of Arts "Prof. Veselin Stoyanov" in Ruse and the Private Secondary School "Bulgarian School."
The Chairperson of the Board of the Bulgarian Book Association, Desislava Aleksieva, emphasized the importance of reading for future generations: "Our mission is to create and support young readers because they are the future of Bulgarian culture."
