During the inspection, Minister Ivanov stated that the set deadline for the completion of the repairs on the road between Botevgrad and Mezdra in the direction of Vidin will be observed. This will ensure better passability and will ease the traffic on road I-3. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Road Infrastructure Agency, Eng. Jordan Valchev, a member of the Board of Directors Ventsislav Atanasov and the Head of DNSK Lilyana Petrova also participated in the inspection.
Minister Ivanov emphasized that despite the problems that have arisen with the landslides, the Road Infrastructure Agency and DNSK are making efforts to eliminate the problems in a quality manner. The progress that is observed is the result of four months of work and can be seen in other sections of the country, including on the motorways.
Ensuring passability on the Mezdra - Botevgrad road will free up the detour routes, which are not adapted for the heavy traffic currently passing through them. Repairs will also begin there.
The Boaza - Dermanitsi section of the Hemus motorway will be ready on time - the end of June, the beginning of July. After that, a major repair of road III-305 Dermanitsi - Pleven will begin, in order to ensure safety for travelers and residents in the area. A bypass road around Dermanitsi is also being built, which is why the launch of the first section of the motorway will be delayed.
Minister Ivanov explained that at the moment there are almost a billion leva to be paid to the companies, and a rhythm of payments has been created. The mayors of Vratsa, Mezdra, as well as the regional governor of Vratsa, also participated in the inspection.
