Attention, drivers! The road conditions in the country are dynamic due to weather conditions and ongoing repairs. Current information on all traffic restrictions at the moment:

Weather conditions:

  • Temperatures are in the range of -12°C to +3°C.
  • The weather over the country is mostly cloudy.
  • Wind is blowing in almost all regions.
  • Light snow is falling in the regions of Smolyan, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Sofia, Montana, and Sliven.
  • Reduced visibility due to fog.

Traffic restrictions:

Highways:

  • A1 "Trakia": Restrictions in the Sofia and Burgas regions due to repairs (deadlines until 31.12.2026).
  • A2 "Hemus": Restrictions in the Sofia region (deadlines until 15.05.2026 and 30.04.2026) and Lovech (deadlines until 19.01.2026 and 02.11.2027).
  • A3 "Struma": Restrictions in the Pernik region (deadlines until 26.01.2026).
  • A4 "Maritsa", "Cherno More", "Evropa": No restrictions in place.

Mountain passes:

  • Closed: "Vurbishki", "Zlatishki".
  • Open: "Pechinsko", "Predel", "Primorski", "Republika", "Rishki", "Rozhen", "Prevala".
  • Restrictions: "Troyanski" (over 12 t), "Kotlenski" (over 20 t), "Aitoski" (over 12 t), "Petrohan" (over 12 t and towing trailers/over 12 m in length), "Vratnik" (over 10 t on sections), "Dyulinski" (over 3.5 t), "Pamporovo" (over 3.5 t), "Tvardishki" (over 10 t), "Shipka" (over 12 t and towing trailers/semi-trailers over 10 t).

First-class roads:

  • I-1 /E79/: Restrictions in the Vidin, Sofia, Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad regions due to repairs. Reversible traffic on sections.
  • І-2 /E-70/: Restrictions in the Ruse and Shumen regions due to repairs.
  • І-3 /E-83/: Restrictions in the Sofia region (over 12 t).
  • І-5 /E-85/: Restrictions in the Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora and Kardzhali regions due to repairs. Reversible traffic on sections.
  • І-6 /E-871 and E-773/: No restrictions in place.
  • І-7: No restrictions in place.
  • І-8 /E-80/: Restrictions in the Sofia and Haskovo regions due to repairs.
  • І-9 /E-87/: Restrictions in the Varna and Burgas regions due to repairs.

Second-class and third-class roads:

Most of the Regional Road Administrations (RRA) report current restrictions and repairs on the second-class and third-class road network. Details for each RRA (Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kyustendil, Kardzhali, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, Yambol) are included in the original text.
