Road Conditions: Current Information on Restrictions and Repairs in Bulgaria (updated)

Snow is falling in the areas of Blagoevgrad, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Kardzhali, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Yambol. Road surfaces are mostly wet, icing is possible in places. Treated and passable in winter conditions.

Restrictions on highways:

• AМ "Trakia":
• Sofia Region: Traffic at Muhovo from km 44+400 to km 46+480 in the direction of Burgas is carried out with increased caution due to securing the road section in the emergency lane. Deadline: 31.12.2026.
• Stara Zagora Region: Traffic from km 164+000 to km 229+286 in the direction of Sofia is carried out in one lane in certain places due to the installation of road signs. The overtaking lane is closed, and traffic is carried out in the active lane. Deadline: 23.01.2026.
• Burgas Region: Traffic on AМ "Trakia" from km 346+400 to km 349+000 in the direction of Sofia is carried out with increased caution in the active and overtaking lane due to repair works on the asphalt surface in the emergency lane. The speed is limited to 90 km/h. Deadline: 31.12.2026.
• AМ "Hemus":
• Sofia Region: Traffic from km 1+240 to km 8+500 in the direction of Varna is carried out with increased caution and with a speed limit of 90 km/h, and vehicles over 12 tons only move in the emergency lane. Deadline: 15.05.2026.
• Temporary traffic organization is introduced in the section from km 39+372 to km 42+680 for left and right tunnel tubes of the "Topli Dol" road tunnel. Deadline: 30.04.2026.

• Kyustendil Region: Traffic at km 53+950 in the direction of GКПП "Kulata" is carried out in one lane due to repair works on the expansion joint. Deadline: 23.01.2026.
