The Patent Office of Bulgaria has launched a fully renewed electronic portal, based on a European platform.

The updated electronic portal of the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, launched on June 16, 2025, offers many new functionalities based on the latest technologies. The new platform, provided by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), allows for easier access to the office's services and the submission of electronic applications.

Among the main improvements are the ability to save draft applications on the portal, the revised electronic services for filing industrial property applications and inquiries, as well as a new approach to electronic signing that no longer requires the installation of specific applications. Receipts for filed applications will be signed in PDF format, with the signatures being visible when the document is opened.

The office's electronic registers have also been completely renewed, with added new functionalities, expanded information coverage, and significantly improved performance. The portal's home page provides direct access to international registers, databases, and information resources such as TM View, DS View, Espacenet, the European Patent Register, e-Search plus, and Madrid Monitor.

Additional functionalities are expected to be introduced in the new version of the portal in the coming months.
