Burgas is under an orange warning for strong wind and rough seas today, October 1, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology says. Gusts will hit 90 km/h, the sea will churn at around force 5, and waves along the coast could top 3 metres.

A yellow warning covers the far southeast of the region, where heavy rain could bring up to 30 litres per square metre.

The institute is warning of strong wind and rough seas along the whole Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Near Dobrich and Varna, the sea is under a yellow warning too, with gusts up to 90 km/h and waves up to 2.5 metres.

Rain will fall across southeast Bulgaria, heavy in places. The west will stay mostly sunny, but clouds will spread in from the east tomorrow across the rest of the country.

Wind will blow moderate from the north-northeast, picking up at times along the east coast. Lows will range from 6 to 11 degrees, highs from 18 to 23.
