The operator of the airports in Burgas and Varna, "Fraport Twin Star Airport Management" AD, announces a change in its executive management. After nearly five years as Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Frank Quante will step down from the position to take on a new leadership role within the Fraport Group in Turkey.
Michael Reuss, an experienced executive with a solid track record in airport management and currently a member of the boards of several Fraport AG subsidiaries, including Fraport USA Inc. and Fraport TAV Antalya (Turkey), has been appointed to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer of "Fraport Twin Star".
With over two decades of professional experience, Michael Reuss joined Fraport in 2003 and has played a key role in managing global airport transactions and investments on various continents. As part of the International Activities and Services division of Fraport AG in Germany, he has led asset management activities in North America and Asia.
Recently, Michael Reuss led a major long-term financing project worth 2.5 billion euros, supporting Fraport's investment in Antalya Airport, Turkey. As a long-standing member of the Supervisory Board of "Fraport Twin Star", he has in-depth knowledge of the company's achievements, strategic direction, and local context. With a commitment to value-based leadership and expertise in the industry, Michael Reuss is well-positioned to lead "Fraport Twin Star" into the next phase of growth and development.
The change in leadership comes at a pivotal moment for "Fraport Twin Star", as the company is implementing large-scale infrastructure and investment projects, including the upcoming rehabilitation of the runway at Burgas Airport, which represents a significant investment in operational safety and long-term capacity, as well as improvements to the terminals and the development of initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of the two airports. These efforts reflect Fraport AG's commitment to maintaining the highest global standards and supporting Bulgaria's role as a key tourism and logistics hub.
"It is an honor for me to take on this role and build on the solid foundation laid by Dr. Frank Quante and the exceptional team in Bulgaria," said Michael Reuss. "This change is not just a change in leadership - it is a baton passing based on trust, shared values, and mutual respect. "Fraport Twin Star" plays a key role in the connectivity and development of tourism in the region. I look forward to working together with all stakeholders to support the sustainable growth and operational excellence of the airports in Burgas and Varna."
This management change reflects the Fraport Group's long-term vision for continuity and leadership development in its international operations.
