A critical situation has been declared in the area of Ilindentsi village, where the raging fire is taking on alarming proportions. According to an official statement by Chief Commissioner Alexander Zhartov from the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection", the current situation is extremely complicated.
Hurricane winds are creating exceptional challenges for firefighting teams. The unpredictable direction and intensity of the wind necessitate a temporary withdrawal of rescue groups to ensure their safety. At present, several thousand decares of agricultural and forest land have been affected.
The main priority of the rescue services is the protection of populated areas. Despite the challenges, experts are counting on the expected wind subsiding, which will allow the deployment of aerial equipment in the fight against the fire.
International assistance is being organized - the arrival of two helicopters and two planes from Sweden is expected. However, meteorological conditions may delay their involvement in the operation. At the moment, there is no air support due to the extremely risky situation.
