Odesa experienced a difficult night after a series of Russian drone strikes, leading to massive destruction and fires in multi-story residential buildings. According to Mayor Gennady Trukhanov, over 10 drones were spotted in the sky over the city, and as a result of the attack, a four-story residential building was completely destroyed. The rescue teams were able to pull three residents from the fire and evacuate six more, but three firefighters were injured during the operation and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
A 23-story residential building also suffered serious damage, with the flames engulfing the 18th, 19th, and 20th floors. In this case, 600 people were evacuated, and three people, including two children, were rescued from a blocked apartment. The fire affected a total of five residential buildings and three vehicles.
The rescue teams of the State Emergency Service (DSNS) continue to work hard on the scene to provide assistance to the victims and extinguish the fires. Mayor Trukhanov stated that there may still be people under the rubble, and the rescuers are racing against time to find and evacuate all those affected.
