The Road Infrastructure Agency has announced large-scale infrastructure activities that will significantly impact traffic on the Hemus Highway during the upcoming night. The planned intervention will be carried out from 9:00 PM on July 3 to 5:00 AM on July 4.
The main goal of the operation is a complete cleaning of the Varna tube in the Topli Dol tunnel complex. To minimize transport difficulties, the RIA management has chosen night hours when traffic is significantly less intense.
Drivers traveling towards Varna will be redirected as follows: from the Vitinska River road junction at kilometer 30, they will pass through first-class road I-1 Sofia - Botevgrad to the Botevgrad road junction at kilometer 47, from where they will rejoin the highway.
For traffic in the opposite direction - towards Sofia, an alternative route is provided: from the Botevgrad road junction at kilometer 47, drivers will be redirected via second-class road II-17 and first-class road I-1 Sofia - Botevgrad to the Vitinska River road junction at kilometer 30.
