The Peyo Yavorov Regional Library in Burgas has been nominated for the prestigious 2025 National Hristo G. Danov Award in the "Library Services" category. The nomination is a recognition of Burgas and its cultural contribution, highlighting the library's role in the national cultural life.

This is a significant recognition for Burgas and its cultural life, officially announced by the Ministry of Culture.

The award, one of the most prestigious in Bulgaria, is given to individuals and institutions that have made a significant contribution to the development and preservation of Bulgarian literature, word, and scholarship.

The process of selecting the winners will be carried out in two stages by a jury appointed by the Minister of Culture.

The awards ceremony is expected to be held solemnly on September 22 in Plovdiv. The winners will receive a diploma, a sculpture made by sculptress Diana Raynova, and a monetary prize. All nominees will be awarded a diploma.

The director of the "Peyo Yavorov" Library, Yana Karshishka, expressed her gratitude: "This nomination is the result of the long-term work of our team, the support of Burgas Municipality and Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, and most importantly – our readers. Thank you for keeping the spirit of the city alive together!"

Her words reflect the general feeling of pride and satisfaction among the library's team.

The nomination for the "Hristo G. Danov" award is of particular importance in the context of Burgas"s candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2032.

It underlines the city"s significant role in national cultural life and shows its contribution to the preservation and development of Bulgarian culture.

The success of the "Peyo Yavorov" Library contributes to the positive image of Burgas as a city with a rich cultural history and vibrant cultural life.
