The fourth edition of the "Best Youth Startup of Bulgaria 2025" competition brought together over 400 participants from across the country. Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Martin Danovski opened the award ceremony for the finalists. The competition, held under the patronage of the Minister of Innovation and Growth, was organized by the Fund of Funds and Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
Danovski congratulated the 11 finalists, emphasizing that entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint, and requires a combination of qualities and skills. He expressed confidence that the competition contributes to the development of young people and the building of a healthy entrepreneurial environment in Bulgaria.
Launched in December 2024, the competition was held in two stages. A new feature this year was the introduction of three categories: "Future Unicorns" for innovative startups, "Business Stars" for small and family businesses, and "SDG Dragons" for projects focused on social and environmental responsibility. 260 teams participated, comprised of young people aged between 18 and 29, including both owners of small and medium-sized businesses and startups with ambitions for international development.
The winners will receive access to business skills development training, mentoring, internships, participation in accelerator programs, and information on investment opportunities.
Greetings were also extended by Deputy Minister of Education and Science Tanya Mihaylova, Vice-Rector of Sofia University Acad. Prof. DSc Tony Spasov, Nikolay Genchev from the Fund of Funds, Ivaylo Ivanov from Founder Institute, Todor Mladenov from Sofia Tech Park, as well as other partners of the competition.
