National Campaign for the Euro: Minister Borshosh Speaks in Burgas

BURGAS – The introduction of the euro in Bulgaria is a topic of paramount importance, which the government is presenting to the general public through a launched national information campaign. During its opening, which took place at the International Congress Center in Burgas, Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh emphasized the key role of dialogue and cooperation between the main stakeholders. In front of the full hall, which showed great interest in the topic, the minister expressed confidence that our country is ready for this important economic transition.

In his speech, Borshosh gave the success of the Southern Black Sea Coast during the past summer season as an example, which he defined as "a bright example of how cooperation between local authorities, the state, and businesses can create a quality and competitive tourism product". He explained that this very working model is also the basis of the new campaign for the single European currency.

The Minister of Tourism pointed out that the goal of the initiative is to lead a "professional, objective dialogue with businesses and local authorities". He emphasized that the tourism sector has already held a series of talks with representatives of the industry and local administrations regarding Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone. "The government's information campaign is not surprising – it builds on the work already done, providing answers to all questions and concerns", Minister Borshosh stated.

With the motto "Unity is strength", the campaign seeks to reach all layers of society, providing adequate and professional information. The minister did not hide that the initiative aims to address the questions and concerns of even "the more conservative representatives of society who have questions or concerns".

In conclusion, Minister Borshosh stressed that the purpose of the campaign is to provide accurate and objective information to ensure that "from January 1, businesses, local authorities, and the state feel calm and confident in every respect". Leaving the podium, he expressed his gratitude to those present, stating that "a full hall means that the topic is important and we are ready to answer all questions from citizens, businesses, and local authorities". Before concluding, he congratulated everyone on the successful summer on the Southern Black Sea Coast, highlighting another successful tourist season.
