On May 22, 2025, a creative workshop dedicated to the 1170th anniversary of the creation of the Cyrillic alphabet by the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius will be held in the courtyard of the Ethnographic Museum in Burgas. The event is jointly organized by the Bulgarian National Radio - Burgas and the Regional Historical Museum in the seaside city. The director of the Burgas Museum, Milen Nikolov, who will tell the story of the Cyrillic alphabet, and the journalist and calligrapher Diana Fortunova, who will teach the children the beautiful writing of the Cyrillic letters, will lead the activities.
Fourth-grade students from the Secondary School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" are invited to participate in the creative workshop. The goal is for the students to learn interesting information about the first Bulgarian alphabet in an entertaining way and to write their own names or favorite words in Cyrillic. Participants will receive gifts and refreshments, on the occasion of the 13th birthday of the Bulgarian National Radio - Burgas.

The creative workshop is part of the initiative "14 Centuries of Bulgaria in Europe", which is a joint initiative of the Bulgarian National Radio, the Bulgarian National Television, and the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency. This initiative plans to mark significant anniversaries for the country with interesting events in the period 2024 - 2032.
