The Minister of Finance Temelina Petkova and the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva held a meeting, during which they discussed Bulgaria's future accession to the Eurozone. The two expressed support for this strategic goal of the country and the need for an information campaign to familiarize citizens with the upcoming changes.

Finance Minister Temelina Petkova met with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva to discuss the good cooperation between the two institutions and the next steps for its development. The main topic of the conversation was Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone.

Minister Petkova emphasized that Bulgaria is on the threshold of achieving its strategic goal - the introduction of the single European currency. She stated that this is an important and positive step for the country, as they are making every effort to guarantee the rights and interests of the citizens.

In turn, Kristalina Georgieva congratulated Bulgaria on its fiscal discipline and stated that she supports the country's goal to become part of the Eurozone. According to her, this is an inevitability and a necessity for Bulgaria. Georgieva also presented good examples from the currency changeover process in the Republic of Croatia. She expressed support for the implementation of a large-scale information campaign to familiarize citizens with the changes that will occur with the introduction of the euro.
