A large-scale international police operation revealed a dangerous drug trafficking channel between Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. Specialized units of the GDBOP and Czech drug enforcement services managed to intercept an attempt to illegally transfer a significant amount of chemical substances potentially used for synthetic drug production.
The investigation established that the criminal group had planned to transport 250,000 pseudoephedrine tablets through a courier company. The goods, presented as a standard intra-community commercial delivery, actually concealed a serious criminal potential.
On June 19, operational officers carried out a successful intervention in a warehouse located in the Czech city of Liba, where they seized the target chemical substances. During the operation, two Bulgarian citizens - a man and a woman, both 30 years old, who were already known to the police for similar criminal activities, were detained.
