On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, a large-scale mosquito control campaign will be carried out in the city of Pomorie. According to the official announcement, the substance that will be used for the treatment is Citrol 10/4 ULV. Its active ingredient is cypermethrin. Its use is authorized by an order of the Ministry of Health, with permit number N 0292-2, issued on September 29, 2016. The local administration assured that the product has passed all safety checks and poses a minimal risk to the health of people and domestic animals. However, as a precautionary measure, citizens are recommended to close their doors and windows tightly during the procedure.

The mosquito treatment will cover all major areas of the city, with the goal of achieving maximum effectiveness. The efforts are aimed at limiting the spread of mosquitoes, which often create discomfort and pose a sanitary and epidemiological risk during the summer season. Local authorities specify that the operation will only take place under suitable weather conditions, which is key for the proper dispersion of the substance and its effectiveness. In unfavorable conditions, such as strong winds or precipitation, the fumigation will be postponed to a later date, which will be announced additionally.
