Volleyball powerhouse Levski Sofia has begun its summer preparation with ambitious plans for the upcoming season. The capital city club, which triumphed with a double crown in the past campaign, winning both the championship title and the Bulgarian Cup in men's volleyball, has returned to the court with a clear goal to defend its trophies.
The preparation of the "Blues" started without some of the key players, who are currently engaged with the national team at the World Championship. They are expected to join the team immediately after the international tournament concludes, which will give an additional boost to the preparation.
One of the highlights in Levski's pre-season preparation is the anticipated arrival of new signing Julian Weisig. The German volleyball player, known for his attacking skills, is expected to add a new dimension to the team's game and strengthen the squad for the challenges in the upcoming season.
At the same time, for the first time this year, Levski Sofia's women's team has also begun its preparation. This is a sign of the club's serious intentions to develop volleyball not only for men but also for women, aiming for success in this category as well.
Special attention is also being paid to the young talents in the club. All youth teams have also started their training, which shows Levski's long-term vision for building a strong academy and securing the club's future.
Levski Sofia's coaching staff expresses optimism for the upcoming season but also recognizes the challenges that await them. Defending the title and cup will not be an easy task, especially given the increasing competition in the Bulgarian championship.
