A large-scale fire engulfed the oil refinery in the Russian city of Kstovo, likely caused by a drone attack. The plant is of strategic importance to the Russian army, processing over 17 million tons of oil per year and supplying the military districts as well as the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

The Russian city of Kstovo became the scene of a serious incident after a large-scale fire broke out at the local oil refining facility. According to Russian media, the fire was caused by a suspected drone attack that destroyed two oil product tanks, each with a capacity of 200 cubic meters.

Although it has not been officially confirmed that the fire was caused by a drone attack, there are videos circulating on the internet showing at least one unmanned aerial vehicle in the sky over the city. According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, even Russian sources admit that the attack was directed against the Kstovo oil refinery.

This plant is of crucial importance for Russian military logistics, processing over 17 million tons of oil per year. Its products power both the central and western regions of Russia, as well as the Russian military districts. The plant also plays an important role in refueling equipment and in the supply of fuel to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

The large-scale fire in Kstovo calls into question the security of this strategic facility and may have a significant impact on Russian military logistics. The situation is unfolding, and the Russian authorities have not yet confirmed the causes of the incident.
