EnduroSat Space Center: The Future of Space Exploration

The development of a modern economy, defense capabilities, and even our daily lives is unthinkable without achievements in space science, technology, and industry. This was stated by the head of state, who today attended the opening ceremony of the newest space center of "EnduroSat", the presidential press center announced.

Against the backdrop of the excitement surrounding the opening, the President emphasized the key role of space research for the future of the nation. The event, which brought together prominent guests and representatives of the scientific community, demonstrated the strategic importance of this field.

Development and Innovation

"Over the years, we have managed to develop a strong and dynamic ecosystem in the field of information technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, mechatronics and many other areas of modern technology and science," the head of state noted in his address. His words emphasized the striving for continuous development and adaptation in the conditions of a dynamically changing world.

The head of state recalled the rich history of our country in space research, dating back over 50 years. He highlighted the remarkable achievements that have turned the country into one of the pioneers in this field. The President pointed out the fact that we are the sixth country to send a person into space. He also reminded that our country is the third to start producing space food. The first space greenhouse "Svet" is a product of Bulgarian inventiveness. In it, wheat was successfully grown in space. In 1972, the first Bulgarian space instrument, Pribor-1 (P-1), was also launched into space. The President added that over the years, scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences have developed over 150 unique scientific instruments, some of which are still functioning on board the International Space Station. One of them continues to orbit Mars, ready to transmit information back to Earth.

In addition, the head of state recalled the creation of the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technologies (INSAIT), the first of its kind in Eastern Europe, which is confidently advancing in the development and modeling of quantum technologies and artificial intelligence. This institute plays a key role in the development of new technologies that will define the future.

"EnduroSat" and Education

In his speech, the President pointed to "EnduroSat" as a vivid example that there are no limits to success when there is a bold vision, diligent work and team efforts. The company is the embodiment of the opportunities that our country can offer to our partners and allies, he said. He emphasized the activity of "EnduroSat" for the development of the potential of young people through the educational program "Space Challenges", which develops talents from Bulgaria and abroad, providing an opportunity for theoretical and practical training. The President also noted the master's program in "Space Engineering and Technologies" developed by "EnduroSat", together with the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, the Georgi Benkovski Higher Air Force School and Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", for the training of the next generation of space engineers.

During his visit, President Radev toured the laboratories of the new space center, getting acquainted with the work of scientists and their development plans. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and hopes for the future.

At the beginning of the year, the executive director of "EnduroSat" told graduates of the Naval Academy that their activity started ten years ago with his dream of making space accessible. This dream is turning into a striving to provide an opportunity to see the Earth from above, to launch various sensors that will be useful for the whole world.
