Full transparency: Members of Parliament call for an audit of public finances

Fulfilling a pre-election commitment to Bulgarian citizens, the "Progressive Bulgaria" (PB) parliamentary group has taken decisive steps toward a full fiscal inventory of the state. The goal is to establish the real state of the treasury and to initiate an economic policy based on a clear foundation.

"Every serious reform and sustainable economic policy requires a stable, institutionally verified starting point," emphasized Konstantin Prodanov.

What does the initiative provide for?

• Submission of three draft resolutions for assigning an audit by the National Audit Office.
• Scope of the audit: Analysis of the state of public finances in key areas.
• Audit period: Inventory of financial flows from 2020 to 2026.

According to Konstantin Prodanov, Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance, this move is necessary to "start with a clean slate" and to guarantee the sustainability of future economic decisions in the country.
