Residents are asking when the heating will be turned on. According to Anastasia Stoycheva from NIMH, the weather is not the reason. The forecasts have signaled a need for heating, but the decision also depends on other factors.

We have received numerous calls with a single question: "When will they turn on the heating?" It turns out that this year, the weather seems to have the final say when it comes to turning on the heating. But what is the truth? We sought the expert opinion of Anastasia Stoycheva, director of the "Forecasts and IO" Department at the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) to answer this question.

With the development of technology and modernization, we, as a society, have become accustomed to a certain standard of comfort. Therefore, the question of heating is of key importance for the well-being of citizens. Mrs. Stoycheva explains the situation: "Climatic temperatures are the reason we already have heating."

"Long ago in the capital, on most days in October, the temperature was below the average daily 12 degrees. The heating had to be turned on. We provided this forecast. So, it is obviously not the weather that is the reason we don't have heating". The reality, according to the expert, is that the forecasts were available, signaling the need for heating.

"The sunny and calm weather is perhaps the reason for delaying the start of the heating, but it's high time for this to be done," adds Mrs. Stoycheva. Of course, the decision to turn on the heating is not only a matter of forecasts, but also of other factors that remain hidden from the general public.

In the transition to the future, when we talk about a long-term weather forecast, Mrs. Stoycheva shares that there will be a gradual cooling, which will be observed around November 4-5. We also expect precipitation. In addition, the fogs will play their role, holding back the daytime temperatures.

For those interested in specific numbers, next week will offer minimum temperatures between 3 and 8 degrees. The maximum temperatures will range around 14 - 18 degrees. It is important to note that until a certain day of the week, the temperatures will reach 23 degrees.
