"For Hristo Fotev, Burgas is the name of his destiny." These words, spoken by Kerana Angelova, outline the essence of the new edition, which takes readers to a world of memories and emotions. The book, dedicated to the poet, offers "a vivid visual experience", as if painted with the colors of Chagall.
In the crowded exhibition hall of the BHG "Petko Zagorski", among representatives of the literary world from different generations, the premiere of "A Book for Hristo Fotev. My Heart Resembles a Port" was opened. Those present, immersed in the atmosphere of creativity, seemed to feel the spirit of the poet himself. The paintings of Violeta Maslarova, close to both Fotev and Angelova, complemented the feeling of closeness and intimacy.
The book is a combination of short prose excerpts and personal memories, which reveal the author's encounters with Hristo Fotev, the spirit of the time and the atmosphere of the Burgas bohemianism of the second half of the 20th century. The editor of the edition, the literary scholar Dr. Dobrina Topalova, noted that the book not only revives the spirit of the poet, but also recreates the context and culture of his time. The encounter between the two artists turns into a quiet experience, filled with beautiful moments and bitter shadows, which give depth and truth to the story.
The poet Elka Vasileva, as well as the director Rumen Velev, were also present at the presentation. The atmosphere was filled with reverence for Fotev's work.
In the book, Kerana Angelova writes: "His poetry is from beginning to end a praise of life, of living. Epiphany, in the sense of enlightening emotional discoveries, feeling the moment in all its fullness. That is why his exaltation in all its senses was the only possible way to express himself, so "disproportionate and beautiful" in the midst of the space of poetry".
The end of the edition is illustrated by poems by Hristo Fotev:

"I was at the very peak of my youth.
I was wild, disproportionate and beautiful.
I loved you without mercy - with anger - and I am surprised that I survived.
I was young, beautiful and improbable.
How I fell over your dark voice.
I am guilty - from your sad memory, not justice - I ask for mercy.
And again I dream of that bright chaos…
(I didn't suspect, but I was happy.)
I loved you without mercy - with anger.
And I regret that I survived."
