Karnobat council will get state money for seven priority projects under the national investment programme for local projects. The agreements have been signed, the council said. The projects are worth more than €2.4m in total.
The money will pay for a major overhaul of the municipal road from Ekzarh Antimovo through Cherkovo to Sarnevo. A new car park will be built at the hospital in Karnobat.
In Nevestino, the main pipeline that brings water to the village will be rebuilt. It is a design-and-build contract that covers the technical design, construction and the designer's supervision.
Designs for rebuilding the street water networks will be drawn up for the villages of Venets, Zhitosvyat, Smolnik and Raklitsa.
The council is still waiting for agreements on four more projects. One is a major overhaul of the cycle lane and pavement along part of Moskva boulevard. Another covers the Centre for Social Rehabilitation and Integration in Karnobat, which will get sports grounds. Part of its building will be turned into sports halls and a gym for disadvantaged people.
The other two projects are to rebuild the street water network in Dragantsi and to improve the space between apartment blocks around Hristo Smirnenski street.
