Innovative Bulgaria 2040: Strategic Plan for Technological Advancement

Within the framework of the "Dialogue Innovations.bg 2040" forum, strategic guidelines for modernization of the national economic system were outlined. Experts emphasized the critical need to rethink existing tools for achieving sustainable growth and technological progress.

The key messages of the forum were focused on three fundamental European principles: developing a new investment model, reformulating the industrial strategy, and transforming the single market through innovative political approaches.

The Ministry of Innovation and Growth presented an ambitious development concept aimed at transforming Bulgaria into a modern technological center. Special emphasis was placed on high-potential sectors such as information technologies and financial innovations.

Statistical data confirm positive trends – the ICT sector already has over 60,000 highly qualified specialists. Financial technologies demonstrate impressive growth, generating 1.8 billion leva over the past five years.

Among the priorities was highlighted the need for closer cooperation between scientific circles and the business community. The government supports this process by creating a regulatory framework, including a Law on Scientific Research and Innovation, a National Innovation Fund, and a specialized Innovation Council.

The discussion involved leading experts, including Yordanka Chobanova from the European Commission, Kostadin Dimitrov – Mayor of Plovdiv, Lilyana Pavlova from the European Investment Bank, and representatives of leading technology companies.

Deputy Minister Danovski emphasized his optimism about the future, stating: "Bulgaria has significant potential, and together we can outline the right direction for development".

The forum in Plovdiv reinforced the vision of an innovative and prosperous Bulgaria that actively works to build a modern, technologically oriented economy.
