On June 12, 2025, a public lecture on the topic "Bulgaria on the threshold of the Eurozone" was held in Burgas, organized by the Chairman of the Municipal Council - Mihail Hadjiyanov. The lecture was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Mihaylov - a lecturer in finance and banking at the Burgas University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov".
In his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Mihaylov made a deep economic analysis of the expected benefits for Bulgaria from the membership in the Eurozone, emphasizing the prospects for sustainable growth, stability, and lower interest rates. The challenges facing the country in the process of accession, including institutional readiness, convergence criteria, and necessary structural reforms, were also discussed.
