The solemn opening of the memorial plaque in the courtyard of the Tabakivsky Lyceum at the Bolgrad City Administration took place on June 18, 2025. The plaque is dedicated to Volodymyr Malakchi - a graduate of the educational institution and a resident of the village of Tabaki, who died on December 4, 2024, in battles on the Zaporizhzhia front at the age of 40.
The event began with a minute of silence and words of deep sorrow over the victims of the war. The speakers present emphasized that the pain, dignity, and heroism of the Ukrainian people will remain in the memory of generations.
The attendees remembered Volodymyr with warmth, describing him as a hardworking, caring, and courageous man, always ready to help, especially his mother. His valor was manifested in every one of his deeds.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the local authorities - the head of the Bolgrad District Military Administration, Mykhailo Sharafanenko, the mayor of Bolgrad, Serhii Dmytriiev, the director of the Lyceum and a municipal councilor, Hryhorii Marharyt, the elder of the village of Tabaki, Volodymyr Terzi, and dozens of residents. The memorial plaque was unveiled by the Hero's mother, Valentyna Malakchi.
In his speech, Mayor Dmytriiev emphasized that this plaque is a reminder to every child that heroes grow among them, and that it depends on them whether they will be worthy of their memory. Unfortunately, this is already the third memorial plaque on the facade of the Tabakivsky Lyceum dedicated to its graduates who died defending Ukraine.
