The political leadership of Germany is undertaking a significant transformation in the communication strategy regarding military support for the Ukrainian army. The Chairman of the Christian Democratic Union, Friedrich Merz, categorically emphasized that potential missile deliveries will be implemented entirely by Ukrainian military personnel.
"It has always been absolutely clear — if we provide the Taurus systems, they will be operated solely by Ukrainian military," the politician stated. The German Chancellor left room for future deliveries, describing the situation as a "still possible option".
The fundamental change is expressed in maximally limiting public communication about specific weapon systems. The main goal, according to Merz, is to maintain strategic uncertainty with regard to the Russian military leadership.
