On June 20, 2025, the Reuters agency reported that the Finnish state organization Business Finland will provide €41.1 million for research and development activities of ICEYE - the leading operator of small radar satellites carrying out missions for NATO, Japan and Ukraine.
ICEYE has the largest fleet of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites, which can take near real-time images regardless of weather conditions and lighting. The funding is part of a larger €250 million program aimed at expanding production capacity, improving sensor technologies and upgrading the company's technical platform.
