The regional meeting of the European World Trade Centers, organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), is taking place in Sofia from June 15 to 17, 2025. The event gathers over 30 representatives of world trade centers from 15 countries, including Armenia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, and France.
The meeting is part of the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the BCCI and includes thematic seminars, presentations by world-renowned speakers, and the official awarding of licenses to new members of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA). Among the new members are the World Trade Center (WTC) Belgrade and WTC Sarajevo, whose licenses were presented by the BCCI President, Tsvetan Simeonov.
The event was opened with a welcome address by Tsvetan Simeonov, who emphasized that Europe is a continent of diversity, with 82 world trade centers, making it the second-largest region in the WTCA network after the Asia-Pacific. Participants include those with deep historical roots from 1970, such as Rotterdam and Brussels, as well as the newest members.
The Minister of Economy and Industry, Petar Dikov, welcomed the forum and noted that Bulgaria is proud of its long-standing cooperation with the WTCA and continues to develop as a dynamic and competitive destination for trade and industry, with key areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and fintech, which attract global investors.
During the event, Bulgaria was presented as an investment destination by Yulian Balchev, the Secretary-General of the Bulgarian Investment Agency, and Victor Gusev, the Head of the Investment Analysis Department at SOAPY, who highlighted the country's advantages and the agency's services.
The forum's program also includes interactive seminars and panels focused on the challenges facing companies in sectors such as automotive, energy, renewable sources, and artificial intelligence. The event will continue with a visit to Interpred - WTC Sofia, thematic events at Sofia Tech Park, and a cultural program.
