The first E-mobility Festival in Burgas gathered nearly 400 electric car owners from across the country, transforming the Sea Station into a hub for green energy and innovation.
The event, part of the 12th edition of the European Mobility Week in the city, showcased the latest electric vehicle models to visitors, providing them with the opportunity to test drive them in a specially designated area.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as enthusiastic visitors explored the models and innovative technologies on offer.
Burgas, known for its well-developed charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, holds a leading position in the country after Sofia and Plovdiv in terms of the number of public charging stations. This contributes to the popularization of green transport in the city and is an important factor in the festival"s success.
The initiative aims to stimulate the transition to a sustainable urban environment and raise awareness of the advantages of electric vehicles, whose popularity among drivers is constantly growing.
The festival culminated in a promising evening light show, using the electric vehicles themselves to create a visually impressive spectacle.
First and foremost is the ecological aspect, which is what we"re striving for, the convenience, the speed.
Dimo Kolchev, CEO of a charging infrastructure company, emphasized the ecological aspect of electric transport as a top priority. Kolchev pointed out that there are just over 24,000 registered electric vehicles in Bulgaria, with an average monthly growth rate of 3-4% last year, and this rate is even higher at the moment. However, he noted that in terms of the number of electric vehicles per capita, Bulgaria is at the bottom compared to other European countries.
We mostly like their dynamism. Also, if you charge them at home, they are extremely cheap to use. The range we did as a family with two electric cars was in the order of 3000-4000 km per month, and that cost us between 130 and 160 BGN. If you calculate it in diesel, it would be maybe 5 to 10 times more.
Dani Rangelov, an electric car owner, shared his positive experience, highlighting the economic benefits of using electric vehicles, especially when charging at home. His testimony further stimulated interest in electric transport among those present.
